Yes, I am still alive!

I finally made it Romania!! Within days of landing, Helena (my co-writer), my daughter, and I were off to Targoviste! There we visited the family home of Vlad Tepes, The Chindia Tower and The Princely Court. While it was sad to see the castle was in ruins, we were able to envision the castle in its former day of glory. The tower is still fully intact. No one fully knows why the castle has been destroyed. Many speculate is was bombed during WWII.

Finally, we have finished book two in The Passion of the Dragon Saga. It is entitled, Love in Flames: The Story of Vlad the Impaler and the Women He Loved. We have sent the completed manuscript off to our editors! This installment will be released on November 26 with Amazon, Barnes & Noble, among others. We have already begun working on the timeline for book 3 and will be releasing that title in the future. Have to leave some surprises!

Our first book, Love in Flames will be available for FREE on Kindle from October 30 – November 3! If you have not gotten your hands on it yet, this is the perfect time!! Believe me, our readers are chomping at the bit for book 2. Not to mention, our pre-readers are foaming at the mouth for book 3!! Don’t miss this chance to own it at no cost to you!! Helena Lancaster is feeling better and now we write! We have been stuck in this chapter for what feels like an eternity! But it has become so long, I believe we have to split it into two chapters. Books getting a little longer each day!! **Does the happy dance!!**

Vlad the Impaler’s ACTUAL Castle (Not The Tourist Trap One)

We were up early the next day to head about an hour north of Pitesti to hike up to see Poenari Castle.  Most of you probably have no idea this castle exists, or why it is of any interest.  Turns out, Bran Castle is not Dracula’s castle.  From what I understand, Vlad Țepeș, otherwise known as Vlad the Impaler, whom Dracula is based on, was only held captive for a very short period in Bran Castle.  It was never actually his castle.  However, it is in great condition, gorgeous, and in an easily accessible place, so, it is marketed to tourists as Dracula’s castle.  We visited this castle as well, on our next day in Romania, and we got to see firsthand just how much of a tourist trap that one is.

Stepping Out of My Comfort Zone….

I have never given much thought to having a blog. Then my co-author kept telling me I needed to have a blog. More than once, I asked her why. Her favorite response is that all authors needed to have a blog. Ok, that really did not explain why I needed one. So, I began to think. Why would I want to follow the blog of an author? well, 1 – To receive updates on future releases. 2 – To get the chance to see what they are like as people. While there will definitely be updates on the future releases, with this blog, I hope to give my readers a chance to get to know me a little better. So, stay tuned for updates, random facts, and who knows where else we will go together.
